Four students from Far East University took on an ambitious 1000 km run around Taiwan.

The students, who are all members of a track and field team, started off their journey on July 1st from their university in southern Taiwan’s Tainan and ran counter-clockwise around the country before returning to their starting point in the south.

One of the students had to drop out on the second day, due to a scooter accident, but the rest of the team completed their run on July 27th.

The students faced difficulties such as running through pouring rain during a typhoon, but they say they also experienced kindness from strangers offering food, drinks, and even a place to stay along the way.

The runners say they each spent an average of $7000 NT for accommodations and $3000 NT for meals over the 27 days.
