A choir consisting of over 30 aboriginal students and teachers from Hsinchu County in northern Taiwan has won two gold medals and one silver medal at the European Choir Games in Germany that concluded Sunday.

‘Hngyang Na Atayal’ earned gold in the categories of “Chamber Choirs/Vocal Ensembles” and “Folklore” in the games’ Open Competition, which is for amateur choirs from all countries with little or no competition experience.

The Taiwanese choir also qualified for and ended up with a silver medal in the “Folklore” category at the Grand Prix of Nations.

This year’ s European Choir Games featured about 100 choirs from 32 countries, including Germany, the United Kingdom, Brazil, New Zealand, South Africa, China and the United States, in addition to Taiwan.
