A two-day food festival promoting New Zealand produce such as dairy products and wine opened yesterday with the aim of connecting local buyers and sellers.

The festival is hosting 20 local food importers touting natural, premium and contamination-free food from New Zealand.

Dean Prebble, director of the New Zealand Trade Development Centre (NZTDC), said this business-to-business fair also marked the start of a 12-month campaign to showcase New Zealand food products across both established and growing sectors.

A virtual fair of New Zealand food and beverages will be launched online on June 15, which is aimed at raising awareness of the range of New Zealand products available for distribution in Taiwan, said Prebble.
