Taiwan and Japan are tied for 4th place in a global math and science education ranking administered by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development with the top five places taken by countries in Asia.

Singapore ranked the best in the world, with Hong Kong placing second and South Korea third in the OECD’s biggest global school rankings to date.

Vietnam was the next-highest Asian country at 12th place, ahead of Germany and Australia.

The study’s findings, based on maths and science scores of 15-year-old  from 76 countries will be formally presented at the World Education Forum in South Korea next week.
