Chinese actress Gong Li is vowing never to attend the Golden Horse Awards ever again, calling them “unjust” after she failed to pick-up any awards this past weekend in Taipei.

Gong was nominated for best lead actress category in the movie “Coming Home” and was widely tipped as the expected winner.

However, she ended up losing to Taiwan’s Chen Xiang-chi for her performance in “Exit.”

In a statement released yesterday, Gong described the event as being “an unprofessional film festival” and said while she likes Taiwan and will visit in the future, it was the last time she will attend the Golden Horse Awards.

Upon learning of Gong’s complaints Tuesday, Sylvia Chang, chairwoman of the executive committee of the Taipei Golden Horse Festival, played down the criticisms.

“These words did not come from Gong herself but from her agent, so it’s not the same!” Chang said emphatically.
