Xbox fans of Taiwan, rejoice! The long wait is almost over! For lo, Microsoft Taiwan has announced that the Xbox One will soon be available for us! Specifically, it will be hitting store shelves in just over a week, on September 23rd!

Here in Taiwan, we have two different versions of the console to choose from. First is the core version, which contains the console itself (with a hefty 500gb hard drive included), one controller, plus a copy of their smash hit Titanfall! The second version is the one with all the trimmings, including a new version of the Kinect, and a grand total of three games. Titanfall is of course one of them, but you’ll also get a copy each of Kinect Sports Rivals and the newest Dance Central game, subtitled Spotlight. Obviously, the latter two are there to make use of your brand-new Kinect functions. And with Dance Central, our loyal ICRT listeners will recognize several of the music tracks you can now groove along with: Avicii’s “Wake Me Up”, Pharrel Williams’ “Happy”, and OneRepublic’s “Counting Stars,” to name just a few. Quite naturally, the second version does cost a bit more, but with all the extras thrown in, I think it’s a reasonable overall price.

Of course, three tiles do not a launch make. Along with the Xbox One and the games bundled with it, Microsoft is bringing 17 games to the Taiwan market at the same time. Aside from the three games pictured above, some other choice offerings include Battlefield 4, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Killer Instinct, Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, and Watch_Dogs. More games are in the pipeline, and before the end of the year we’ll be getting another batch of goodies, such as Assassin’s Creed: Unity, Dragon Age: Inquisition, Fable Legends, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, or over 30 titles total.

And what’s a console launch without a launch party? The night before, September 22nd, Microsoft is taking over the Xinyi Mitsukoshi Plaza in Taipei to unveil the new hardware. And naturally, ICRT is going to be there! DJ Joey is going to lead a team of listeners to face off against the members of the Lamigo Monkeys CPB league team and the Lami Girls! You read that right, we need you to come out and join us, and be one of the first to play the new Xbox One in Taiwan! If you want to be one of our teammates, send us your info at XboxOne@icrt.com.tw. Five lucky people will be selected to join our squad, and throw down to Dance Central Spotlight!
