Bear Keeps Lost Boy Safe

Have you ever gotten lost? Have you ever been in a place where you did not
know how to get home?

Well, let me tell you, it is a very scary feeling. It is even scarier if
you're all alone.
迷路很可怕，尤其是只有你一個人的時候。

This is what happened to a three-year-old boy named Casey in the United
States. He was playing outside his grandmother's house, when he went a little
bit too far into the woods.
美國有個叫做Casey的三歲男孩，在外婆家外面玩，結果他跑進了森林裡面。

And he was lost for two whole days! That's a long time to be away from home.
Casey's family was very worried about him.
他在森林裡走失了整整兩天！他的家人非常擔心。

Thankfully, somebody was there to protect Casey … a wild bear!
幸好，有一頭熊保護了Casey！

Casey met a wild bear while he was lost. Bears are usually very dangerous,
and people should not go near wild bears if they see them.

But this bear kept Casey warm and safe until people found him.
一般來說，野生的熊很危險，不可以靠近，不過這頭熊一直保護著Casey。

The bear did not hurt Casey. And even though Casey was very cold and very
hungry, he was healthy when he returned home.
Casey回到家時，雖然又冷又餓，但是沒有受傷。

I'm glad for Casey, but remember, even though his story turned out okay, you
still shouldn't try to make friends with wild bears!

Man Survives Two Crashes!

Hi, kids.

Today, I have a crazy story to tell you!

It might seem like a movie, but it's a true story!

This is about a pilot in California.

In January this year, he took off.

But while he was flying his plane, he had a problem.

A big problem!

His plane crashed!
今年一月份有一位加州的飛行員開著飛機，結果飛機意外墜機了！

But he had another very big problem: The pilot crashed right onto some train
tracks.

And there was a train coming right at him!
他受傷不嚴重，但是飛機墜毀在火車軌道上，而火車就要來了。

Luckily there were some police near where the pilot crashed his plane.
幸好附近有警察，立刻趕來幫忙。

They pulled the pilot out of his plane.

They pulled him out just before the train hit the plane!
就在火車撞上飛機之前，警察把飛行員拖出來了。

He was taken to the hospital.

But he only had some cuts and bruises, and he was bleeding.

That guy was so lucky!

But he was basically OK.

Wow! He could have been killed when his plane crashed.

And he would have been killed if that train hit him!

They should make a movie about this lucky guy.

A-mei Concerts Causing 'Tremors'

Yeah! I love this song! When the music is as good as this I just have to get
up and dance, I can't stop myself!
我好愛這首歌，它讓我忍不住跳起舞來！

Some music is so good, it makes you want to jump up and down! But too many
people jumping at the same time can be a big problem. It can even cause
tremors. Tremors happen when the ground shakes, like an earthquake!

This happened last month at an A-mei concert. A-mei sold all the tickets to
her show very quickly, her fans really love her! So the Taipei Arena was full
of people.

Students Fight Floods with Video Games

Hello! Sorry about all this water, my house is flooded!

A flood happens when there is too much water! So the water starts rising
higher and higher, and going everywhere! Even inside people's houses, like
mine…

Don't worry, I'm safe! But floods can be very dangerous. If they are big they
can really hurt people, or buildings, or crops, or all sorts of things.

Floods are very hard to stop. And, as the planet gets hotter, scientists say
there will be many more.

But, some students in the UK have now found a fun way to fight floods: with a

Solar-Powered Computer Cockroaches

What's that? A cockroach?! Ahhh!

I don't like cockroaches, how about you? You don't like them either, right?

You know, some animals can help people. Dogs can help find lost people or
help the police catch bad guys.

Now scientists have found a way for cockroaches to help people too! Thanks to
a super tiny computer.
科學家找到讓蟑螂幫助人的方法！他們用一個超級小電腦。

This little computer is like a mini backpack. It controls the cockroach's
legs. They also put a tiny solar panel on the cockroach's back to power the
computer!

Cockroaches are very good at getting into small places, and if scientists can
control them, they can use them to go into super small spaces.
