Parrot Saves Man from Fire

Do you have any pets? Having a pet is awesome.

You can feed them, play with them, cuddle with them, maybe walk or exercise
with them, and pets can be really great friends too.

But did you know that a pet could even save your life? 你知道寵物會救人嗎？

It's true, a man in Australia, called Anton, was saved by his pet!
住在澳洲的Anton，真的被他的寵物救了！

What kind of pet does Anton have?

He has a parrot! Some parrots, like Anton's parrot have been trained to talk.

Anton 的寵物，是一隻會說話的鸚鵡！

And one night, when Anton was asleep...... his house caught fire!
有一天，Anton已經睡著！但是，房子起火了！

Luckily, his parrot noticed the fire and started calling Anton's name.
鸚鵡發現火災，一直大叫Anton 的名字。

Anton heard his parrot calling and he woke up.

He could smell smoke so he took his parrot, left his house, and called the
fire department.

Anton聽到叫聲醒來，聞到煙味，趕緊打給消防隊，然後帶著鸚鵡逃到屋外。

It was a big fire but luckily Anton and his parrot are okay, and luckily the
parrot woke Anton up so they could get out!

Three Hours to ISS

Did you know that people live in space? 你知道有人住在外太空嗎？

It's true!

People have lived in space for 20 years! …

These people live on the International Space Station or ISS.
太空站有太空人住，已經20年了。

It's a really big space station.

You can sometimes see the ISS from the earth. But the ISS is still very far
away.

You need a powerful rocket to push you up, up, up into space … and then you
need smaller rockets to get the spaceship to the space station.

Usually, it takes one or two days for the spaceship to get to the
International Space Station 通常需要1到2天的時間， but in 2020, Russia set a
new record!

Now, a spaceship from Russia can reach the ISS in three hours!

Space scientists in Russia did a lot of math… they worked hard to find a way

An Overpass for Animals

Why did the bear cross the road? To get to the other side, of course!

Have you ever wondered how wild animals cross the road?
你有想過野生動物都怎麼過馬路嗎？Especially if the road is very busy with lots
of cars driving past?

Crossing the street for animals to get to the other side is very dangerous!

They could get hit by passing cars.
野生動物過馬路時很危險，可能會被車撞到。This means it is very dangerous for
drivers as well.

This is why smart people in the U.S. decided to make a special bridge just
for animals.

The bridge goes over a big road.

This way, animals can cross the road without going through busy traffic.
專家決定建一座橋，讓動物安全過馬路。

People put plants and rocks on the bridge so animals feel comfortable.

And after a while, it worked! 還真的有用！

Animals started using the bridge to get from one side of the road to the
other. And by using the bridge, they wouldn't get hit by

Lots of animals use the bridge, like moose, porcupines, deer and bears.

Building that bridge was a very smart thing to do for the animals. Now they

Robot Wolf Scares Bears in Japan

Do you know what a scarecrow is? 中文是稻草人。

It looks like a person, but it's not real. Farmers sometimes put scarecrows
in their fields to scare away crows... that's why they are called
"scare-crows"! 農夫會放在田裡來嚇走烏鴉。

When crows see the fake person in the field… they get scared and fly away.
But in Hokkaido, Japan, they didn't have a crow problem, they had a big brown
bear problem! 日本北海道，沒有烏鴉的問題，但是有棕熊的大麻煩。

How can you scare away big brown bears? They're not scared of a scarecrow!

Sometimes, when they get hungry, the bears come into town... looking for

Strongest Kids in the World

Are you strong? I mean... really strong? I'm not! There are kids who are
stronger than me!

Some people like to build their muscles by lifting weights... we call this
sport "weightlifting." 有些人靠舉重來鍛鍊肌肉。

All over the world, men and women weightlifters lift weights and see who is

Most adults can only pick up 40, or maybe 50 kilograms. That's about as heavy
