Free App Helps Cut Plastic Waste

You know, the world is getting hotter and hotter every year. And it's
important for all of us to stay healthy and drink lots of water.

It's getting hotter because of something called "climate change".

"Climate" means weather. The weather is changing because of all the pollution
people have been making for many, many years.

There are lots of kinds of pollution, and all of them are very bad. One kind
is "plastic waste".
其中一種汙染是塑膠垃圾。

If someone buys a bottle of water, drinks it, and throws it in the trash,
that plastic is now waste. BUT, if someone uses that bottle again, it is no
longer waste! And the plastic won't pollute our planet.
假如有人買瓶裝水，喝完之後亂丟就是一種浪費，但如果能重複利用，它就不是垃圾了！

And, guess what?! Taiwan has a free mobile app, to help you find over 8000
spots to refill your water bottles!
台灣現在有一款免費的App，能帶你找到八千多個裝水的地方！

Folks in Taiwan used to leave tea pots filled with water outside for thirsty
passers-by to drink, so that everyone could be safe in the heat.
奉茶是從前大家會在路邊放水壺，讓路過的人喝水解渴。

Which is why the app is called 【奉茶行動】.

In English this means "Tea Service". The app has already saved more than
450,000 plastic bottles!
這個叫做奉茶行動的App，已經省下四十五萬個寶特瓶！

California Says No to Gas Cars

Today is World Car Free Day! It's a time when some people stop driving their
cars for a whole day.
今天是世界無車日！

Cars make a lot of pollution. There are lots of other ways to stop cars from
making so much pollution. Like in California… they want to stop selling gas
cars by 2035.
汽車製造了很多污染。美國加州想從2035年以後不賣燃油車了。

California won't stop selling all cars. They will just stop selling cars that
use gas, which make lots of pollution. They will still sell cars that use
electricity, of course.
不是所有車都不賣了，他們還會賣電動車。

Other states in America also want to ban the sale of gas cars. This means the
air in these places will be cleaner.
美國有一些地方也想要不賣燃油車，這樣空氣會比較乾淨。

And now, Taiwan says it wants to ban the sale of gas cars too! Wow! That's
great. Taiwan won't stop selling them as soon as California, though. Taiwan
plans to stop selling gas cars by 2040. That's five years later than
California.

New Flying Car Coming Soon

Hey students! Do you know what's cool? Flying cars! They can drive on roads
like regular cars. But they have wings that let them fly in the air, too!

Today, I want to talk about a company called Samson. Samson wants to make a
flying car called the Switchblade. When the car flies, the wings swing out
from under the car. They fold back when it is on the road, so the wings are
hidden.

The Switchblade has just three wheels, not four. But it can go really fast,
like a sports car. On land, it can travel 200 kilometers an hour. In the air,

Teen Makes New Electric Motor

Look at that bus! It looks really cool! And it's so quiet!

Do you know why it's so quiet? It's an electric bus. It uses an electric
motor!

Electric motors are great! They don't make all that smelly smoke that's bad
for the air… and bad for people, too.

Electric Airplanes Tested in America

Hi students! Today we're talking about electric vehicles.
