Seaweed for Cows

You've heard about global warming, right?

Cars, buses, motorcycles, factories... they all make a kind of gas that is
making the world warmer… If the world gets much hotter, the oceans will rise
and many places will be underwater!

We have to stop putting so much of this gas into the air, but guess what?
Cows make a kind of gas, too! And cow gas is actually worse for the earth

We have a lot of cows in the world because people like to eat beef. Cows eat
grass, but when they digest it... they fart and burp! A lot! Gas from cows is
making the world warmer! 牠們會放屁，也會打嗝，讓地球暖化。

But some scientists found that if we feed cows a mix of seaweed and grass,
the cows don't burp so much!
科學家發現餵牛吃草時加些海草，牠們就不會排出那麼多氣體。

Seaweed mixed with grass is a good idea, but we also should think about not
eating so much beef. There are too many cows on the planet. Seaweed and grass
might help a little, but if everyone eats less beef, that will help a lot.

Many people love beef, but we could all eat a little less beef to save the
planet, right?

How Planets Support Life

We live on the planet Earth. And Earth goes around the sun with other
planets. This is our solar system. 太陽系中的行星都繞著太陽轉。

Earth can support life because the conditions are just right.
地球上有生命，因為各種條件都剛剛好。

But why don't the other planets have life?

Some are too close to the sun, making them too hot. Some are too far from the
sun, making them too cold. Things need to be just right.

Earth also has water which is really important for life. 水也很重要！

We haven't found any other places in our solar system that have life.
我們目前在太陽系其他地方還沒找到生物。

But, there are other solar systems really, really far away, where different
planets go around different suns.

Some of them could have conditions a bit like Earth. They could be not too

In fact, that is what one pizza restaurant is trying to do. They're trying to

It's Raining Fish and Frogs

Woah! That rain is really heavy!

Some people might even say "it's raining cats and dogs''! But that's just a
funny expression. It just means heavy rain.

But there actually is a very strange and rare weather event called animal
rain! Yep. And it happened not long ago in the state of Texas in the USA.

On what seemed like just a normal rainy day, people suddenly noticed fish and
frogs falling to the ground!

How does this happen?

Sometimes a swirling wind, like a tornado, happens over water. This is called
a waterspout.

Sometimes small animals like fish and frogs get pulled into the waterspout
and carried away from the water. They then come back down to the ground with
the rain.

Potato Milk

Do you like soy milk?

I do!

I drink soy milk almost every morning!
我喜歡豆漿，幾乎每天早上都會喝。

But, there are now lots of other kinds of milk, too!

There is oat milk … and almond milk … but here's a new one: potato milk!
