An Arctic Fox's Amazing Journey

Hey, what's up, everyone?

Ahhh! Hmmm… my ice cubes are almost gone. 冰塊幾乎沒了...

Ice melts when it's warm, right? And when ice melts, it turns into water.

But did you know, the ice, just like in my glass of water, is melting?...
That's right, 那邊的冰正在融化了.

This has an effect on some animals too.

She traveled from Norway in Northern Europe, all the way to Canada in North
America! 3,500 kilometers!

The little fox walked on ice and crossed frozen seas to get there!

I hope she had some nice warm clothes... maybe a hat... 希望牠有記得穿外套,
戴帽子... Wait, do foxes wear hats? Ha! Of course not.

They have their own thick, natural fur coat to keep them nice and warm.

But why did the little fox leave home? And why did the fox go so far away?

Scientists think it's because the fox's home is changing. It's melting, just
like my ice cubes.. And It's melting because the earth is warming up… and
that's a bad thing… it means animals are losing their homes 地球暖化

But there is something we can do... We can help by saving energy! So when
you're not watching TV, turn it off! Leaving the room? Hit that light switch!

And when you throw away trash, please remember to recycle! 記得要省電.

Old Cell Phones, New 2020 Medals!

I love sports. I love to play sports … AND I love to watch sports!

Sometimes we win, and sometimes we lose, right? 比賽有輸有贏，對嗎？Sometimes
… when you win, you get a medal! You wear it on your neck!

But, the medals at the Olympics are special … medals at the Olympics are
made of gold and silver! Gold and Silver!

The Olympics are cool! Every four years … people from all over the world

Great Barrier Reef has very poor outlook

Narrator: Scuba diving is so peaceful. I love it.

你會潛水嗎? My favorite place to go scuba diving is at the Great Barrier Reef.

The Great Barrier Reef is in Australia. 你去過澳洲嗎?

There are so many different and beautiful kinds of fish there.

那裡也有好多不一樣顏色的珊瑚喔! When I went scuba diving at the Great Barrier
Reef, I saw coral that was blue, yellow, green,red and purple.

I didn't know coral could be so many different colors!

However, the Great Barrier Reef is in danger. 大堡礁現在有危機。

Let me tell you why.

Here we are, at the Great Barrier Reef. But what happened to the coral? And
where are all the fish?

The coral isn't colorful anymore. It has all turned an ugly white color.

What's that over there?

There is also a lot of construction happening on the land near the Great
Barrier Reef. This is hurting all the beautiful and colorful coral.

And look over there.

There are a lot of fishermen fishing in the ocean around the Great Barrier
Reef.

This is probably why all the fish disappeared.

But it isn't too late to save the Great Barrier Reef.

We can still protect it.

We can protect the Great Barrier Reef by fishing less, and leaving the land
around it alone. 如果我們減少捕魚我們就可以保護大堡礁。

If we leave the land alone, the Great Barrier Reef can grow naturally and the
fish can live there peacefully.

If we work together to protect the Great Barrier Reef, the coral could slowly
become healthy again.

Then all of its wonderful colors might come back.

Also fish might come back and live there again.

Wouldn't that be nice? Then everyone could scuba dive there and see how
beautiful it is.

3-D Printer Makes a House

Oh, hi. Excuse me. I'm printing something from my computer. It's just a
regular printer. It's not a 3-D printer.

Do you know about 3-D printers? 你知道3D印表機嗎？

3-D printers can make great things. They can make plastic cups, bowls, toys,
and lots more. 3-D printers can also make houses!
3D印表機可以印出杯子、碗或是玩具，現在還可以蓋房子！

That's right. You can print a 3-D house.

A really big 3-D printer made a house in Belgium. That's in Europe.
在歐洲的比利時，有用3D印表機蓋的房子喔。

The 3-D house has two floors and people can live in it.

The printer didn't use plastic to make the house. It used concrete, so it is

Robot Farmers

In Taiwan, some farms are small, and some are big... 台灣的農場有大，有小。

But guess what? There are farms in America that are bigger than all of Taipei
City! 在美國，有些農場比台北市還大喔。

On super big farms, farmers can't look at every vegetable… they can't check
every plant to see how it's growing.

But a robot can!

And….Scientists now have "robot farmers"!
這麼大的農場，農夫沒辦法照顧所有的蔬果。但「農夫機器人」可以！

These robots can find every vegetable… check every plant… and they can take
really good pictures!
「農夫機器人」可以照顧全部的蔬果植物，還會拍照記錄生長狀態。

The robots look a little like cars… they have wheels like cars… but they
are tall... I guess you could say they look like cars with legs.
這種「農夫機器人」長得像有腳的車子。

They drive over the vegetables and plants... look down... take pictures...
find information... and then send what they find back to a computer.
