Crocodile Pet

I've seen lots of different kinds of pets in Taiwan...pet snakes, small pet
pigs … one of my friends in Kaohsiung has a pet chicken!

But a pet crocodile??!!

Wow...now that would be a very different kind of pet.
但是，把鱷魚當寵物？…真的很不一樣。

Well, a family in Japan has one!

About 40 years ago, a little boy told his daddy "I don't want a dog or a
cat...I want a baby crocodile!" "okay!".
大約40年前，有個日本小男孩要求養鱷魚，他的爸爸居然答應了！ Hmmm...Would your
mom or dad say "yes" to a crocodile? ...I don't think so.
Anyway, the crocodile grew up and is now more than 2-meters long! His name
is "Caiman-san" and he is tame and likes people.
這隻鱷魚現在長大了，超過2公尺長，已經被馴服而且很喜歡人類。
The little boy is now an adult...and he takes the crocodile for walks...with
a leash ...just like a dog! 小男孩現在也是大人了，他會用牽繩帶鱷魚去散步。
The family says the pet crocodile is very gentle and doesn't bite.
這家人說這隻鱷魚很溫和，不會咬人。Usually, it's not a good idea to have wild
animals as pets. Wild animals should stay in the wild.
其實，野生動物不應該被當寵物養。 But this happened 40 years ago...maybe
people back then didn't think the same way we do today.
Well, at least this family in Japan is happy...and the pet crocodile seems
happy, too!

Breakdancing at Paris 2024

Ohhh! That's a funky song!

It's the kind of song that makes you want to get up and dance!
這種歌是不是讓你想跳舞.

Can you dance? 你會跳舞嗎?

I wish I was a better dancer. And I really wish that I could breakdance!

Have you heard of breakdancing? Or breaking? 中文就叫做街舞. It's really
cool!

Breakdancing is kind of like art mixed with sport. 街舞有點像藝術結合運動.

Dancers need to be creative, stylish, strong, and athletic. 舞者需要有創意,
有風格, 還要身體強健靈活.

Breakdancing is hard and takes a lot of practice. 街舞不容易, 得再三練習!

But some people are really good.

Some dancers can lift and hold themselves up with just one hand and some can
even spin around and around on their head!

Taiwan's Karaoke Taxi

Do re mi fa so la ti do. Oh sorry… I'm just practicing my singing.

I like singing when I'm at home and when I go to karaoke with my friends.
我喜歡在家裡或去KTV唱歌。

But I'm too shy to sing in front of people I don't know.
我很害羞，所以不敢在大家面前唱。

But here in Taiwan, one man wants to help people to be brave and just sing!

The taxi driver will record videos of customers singing for his YouTube

No Fingerprints

Hi, everyone! Do you know what a fingerprint is? 你知道指紋是什麼嗎？

Try this: Put some ink on your fingers...then press your fingers onto some
white paper...what you see is your own fingerprint!
你用手指沾點墨水，然後按到白紙上，就可以看到自己的指紋喔！

Scientists say it's almost impossible for two people to have the same
fingerprint.

The police can sometimes match fingerprints to bad people. --Aha! Got you! --
You're going to jail!

But, in a country called Bangladesh…there's one family where the men don't
have fingerprints! 孟加拉有個家族，他們的男性成員，都沒有指紋。

Yeah! It's true.

These men's fingers are smooth...with no circles on the skin.

And this is a problem.

They're not bad guys, but they can't get passports or IDs because they don't
