Airport Racetrack?

Did you know there is an airport near Kenting? But no one is using it anymore.
你知道墾丁附近有一座現在已經沒有人在使用的機場嗎？

Many people thought building an airport near Kenting was a good idea. They
said, "People from anywhere in Taiwan can fly to Hengchun Airport! That will
be faster than driving!"
當年是希望大家可以坐飛機來墾丁玩，所以蓋了恆春機場。

But there were some problems. The wind in the Hengchun area is sometimes
super strong.

Airplanes tried to land at the airport… but the winds were too strong. It
was too dangerous… so in the end, airplanes stopped using the Hengchun
Airport.
恆春的落山風太強，飛機起降很危險，所以停止使用這個機場。

But… some people now have an interesting idea! They want to turn the airport
into a place to race cars… a racetrack!
有人想到可以把機場改成賽車跑道！

People would come to watch the car races… and the people in Hengchun and
Kenting could make money from the visitors.

I like this idea! Car racing can be very exciting. But you need to be safe!
You need a big open space… like… an old airport!
賽車比賽很刺激，但是要安全唷！空蕩蕩的機場就很適合。

If they build a safe racetrack, I think people will come to watch the races.

Exercise Bike at Fast Food Restaurant

Many people like hamburgers and French fries… but we know too much fast food
isn't healthy.
大家都知道吃太多速食很不健康。

But one fast food restaurant in China has a fun idea. They want to remind
people that fast food is OK every now and then… if you remember to exercise!

So, this fast-food store uses exercise bicycles for seats.
在中國的一家速食餐廳，把飛輪當座位。

You can come inside, buy a hamburger and fries… and then sit and pedal while
you eat. And, pedaling can also charge your cell phone!
你可以一邊踩腳踏車一邊吃東西，同時幫手機充電！

Some people might say that exercising and eating at the same time will give
you a stomachache, but the restaurant says the idea is just for fun... and to
remind people to exercise.
餐廳說這個點子只是為了好玩而已，也提醒大家要多運動。

Not all the seats in the restaurant are exercise bicycles, just a few. And
remember, you can also charge your phone by pedaling!

Scientists say exercise is the key to staying healthy.

Massive Kaohsiung Cabbage

Can you imagine a cabbage that weighs 15 kilos? Many young children don't
weigh 15 kilos!

But there is a cabbage that was grown in Kaohsiung… and it's 10 times bigger
than most cabbages... and weighs almost 15 kilos!
在高雄有一顆將近15公斤重的高麗菜，比一般的高麗菜大十倍！

How did the cabbage grow so big? The Kaohsiung farmers found some land that
was very clean... no pollution... and they didn't use any chemicals when they
were growing it.
農夫說他們找到一塊沒有汙染的土地，也不使用任何化學藥劑，才會種出這麼大的高麗菜。

And… the farmers played music to the cabbage!
他們還放音樂給高麗菜聽！

Some people think talking to plants and playing music to plants makes plants
happy… and, well, it might be true!

Whatever the Kaohsiung farmers did… it worked! This huge Kaohsiung cabbage
is amazing…

And the farmers say if we use clean land with no pollution and don't use

Drone Helps Find Missing Dog

Some dogs help us find lost people. Dogs can smell very well… and they use
their noses to smell and find lost people. We call these dogs "search and
rescue" dogs.
有一些狗狗會用嗅覺來幫忙找失蹤的人，這種狗叫做搜救犬。

But in the U.K., one search and rescue dog got lost…
在英國有一隻搜救犬失蹤了。

The dog's name is Juno. Juno was out for a walk one day, and she ran into
some tall grass. Why? We don't know. Maybe she was playing.

The ISS is Going to Fall Back to Earth

Have you ever wondered what happens to all of the machines that people have
sent into space?
你有沒有想過，人類送上外太空的東西，用完之後去了哪裡?

For example, the International Space Station, or ISS, is like a giant
"building" in outer space that astronauts use.
太空人使用的國際太空站就像一棟很大的建築物

But NASA, the U.S.'s space agency, say they need to shut it down soon.
美國太空總署說，需要盡快關閉它。

So what will they do? Leave it in space?

Nope, they're going to let the station … crash back to Earth.

But don't worry, it's not as dangerous as it sounds.

Really smart space scientists know how to control the International Space
Station as it comes back to Earth, and they will make it land in a spot far
away from any people.

ocean. This spot is called Point Nemo.
