Man Rides Wooden Bike Down the UK
A man from Ethiopia lives in England. He was bored. He missed his family. So
he tried something new. He learned how to ride a bike.
The man wanted to make a bike from wood. He used strong wood. He recycled a
flip-flop. He made the brake with it!
A friend had an idea. The man could ride his bike from the north to the south
of the UK! That is like riding down three and a half Taiwans!
It was hard. The wind and rain were cold. Sometimes he did not have food.
But it was great too. Many nice new friends gave the man food and a place to
stay. He stayed in homes, garages, barns, and cars! Some people sent him
money for a hotel room!
The wooden bike looked funny. But people liked it. Sometimes it broke. People
helped him fix it.
After a few months, the man came to the south of the UK. Friends met him with
food and music. He is happy now.
He has a new family of friends in the UK!

Taiwan Fire Dancer Wows on UK Talent Show
We're sizzling with excitement for today's story.
But don't worry, it's safe!
A fire dancer from Taiwan, Yang Li-wei did something amazing.
She wowed everyone on the TV show Britain's Got Talent.
She is 32 years old and comes from Taiwan.
She told the judges (評審) that she hopes to perform one day for King Charles!
During her five minute show, Li-wei did amazing tricks.
She swallowed a small flame.
She lifted a pot of fire...
And made it spin with her feet.
She waved fire fans in both hands.
She also used her feet to spin a burning table.
Wow!
Sparks flew into the air like stars.
All four judges loved her show.
But it wasn't easy.
The weather in the UK was very cold.
Li-wei says her hands and feet felt numb (失去感覺) from the cold.
The show staff helped her.
They brought hot water to warm her hands and feet.
But the water got cold in just three minutes!
So they kept changing it again and again.
A team effort!
Li-wei began performing when she was only 10 years old.
She studied at the National Taiwan College of Performing Arts.
Training was hard.
She had to lie with her feet raised for a long time.
This made her hands and feet feel numb.
At one time, she stopped performing.
She worked in a restaurant in Japan.
But when she saw a friend perform (表演) and heard children cheering...
She cried and knew she wanted to perform again.
Li-wei says the performance is not only about her.
She says it shows the warm spirit of Taiwan and her team.
She hopes to perform around the world.
She wants to share Taiwan's warmth with everyone.
Fire can be dangerous.
But in the hands of a trained artist like Li-wei...
It can be beautiful and magical.
She is lighting up the world in her own way.

Larry the Cat Celebrates 15 Years at Downing St.
Now, here's a story that's the cat's meow!
Meet Larry.
He is a famous cat who works for the UK government.
He lives at 10 Downing Street in London.
That's where the UK prime minister lives and works.
And recently (最近), Larry celebrated 15 years on the job!
What IS Larry's job?
Larry is the Chief Mouser.
That means the grey and white cat helps catch mice.
But he also has other important jobs.
He greets visitors.
He checks security (安全) at the house.
And he tests antique chairs for good nap spots.
Sounds like a nice job, right?
But things weren't always so comfortable for Larry.
Long ago, Larry was a stray cat on the streets of London.
An animal rescue center took him in.
Then in 2011, Larry was adopted by David Cameron, who was UK prime minister
at the time.
Since then, Larry has lived at Downing Street.
He has seen six prime ministers come and go!
Larry is also very good at photo-bombing.
When world leaders visit 10 Downing Street...
Larry will often walk into the picture at just the right time.
The cat has met many famous people.
Sometimes these famous people have to make way for Larry!
Larry really liked Barack Obama, who was president of the United States at
that time.
He got a smile from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
And once, he took a nap under Donald Trump's car!
Over the years, Larry has shared his home with other animals.
There was a dog named Dilyn...
Another dog named Nova...
And two cats, JoJo and Prince.
But Larry is still the boss of the office area!
Larry is now about 18 or 19 years old.
He moves very slowly.
But he still guards his home.
And he enjoys warm naps by the door.
Many people love Larry.
Some say he is more popular (受歡迎) than government leaders!
Happy 15 years of service, Larry!
