I was born in Taipei, the only child to a small family of three. During the summer of ’97, we moved to Vancouver, Canada, and I was raised like a wild turkey free from any restraints. My mother fed me Bee Gees, Lobo, Carpenters, Beatles, Eagles, Frank Sinatra, Rod Stewart, Louis Armstrong...among others. But as a little wannabe in high school at a time when hip hop was prominent, I was wearing jeans 3 sizes bigger and my cap sideways. I listened to Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, 2pac, Biggie, Jay-z, Outkast, TCQ, De la Soul, Gang Starr...and of course, Eminem! Like every other Asian kid, I was also put through piano lessons until I grew old enough to rebel my parents. Ironically, I picked up a guitar instead because people told me that girls like boys who can fiddle. And I had no choice but to stay in the competition. I wasn’t a very studious child, my high school years were spent on partying and playing on my high school Rugby team. When I finally squeezed myself into a University in Eastern Canada, I decided to study Economics (I know, what the heck?) My college roommate was big on classic rock, which turned over a new leaf for me as I finally started listening to the Stones, Floyd, Zeppelin...etc. I moved back to Taiwan in ’08 and was an English teacher, a sales manager, and an arts presenter before becoming a radio jockey. Music has always been a big part of my life, and now, I get to play music for you every day on air!
