Good Health for Back to School
It's back to school for you! But! It's also back to catching colds...
More sneezing and coughing are around you! But there are many ways to stay
healthy.
Listen up! What's the first thing to do before you eat?
Well, you wash your hands! Using soap is important.
You can't see the germs and viruses on your hands. But germs and viruses can
make you sick.
Water doesn't kill them... Soap kills them! When there's no soap and water,
find some hand sanitizer.
Next, eat healthy foods! Vegetables, fruits, and whole grains are good for
you. Don't be picky!
Take a bite of broccoli. One bite is better than no broccoli!
Finally, at the end of the day, it's bedtime.
Thirty minutes before bedtime, turn off your TV and your computer. Put away
your phone. That can help you sleep better.
Get lots of sleep. Your body needs to rest and get ready for a new day!
Wash your hands, eat healthy foods, and get lots of sleep, okay?
Stay healthy out there, kids! Now, with clean hands, eat lunch!

Drones Delivering Medicine for Remote Areas
What's that in the sky?
Is it a bird?
Is it a plane?
Nope, it's a medicine delivery!
Have you ever seen a drone (無人機)?
You know, those little flying machines controlled by people on the ground?
Well guess what?
In Taiwan, drones are now doing something very important.
They are delivering medicine!
Remember back in the summer, when we had lots and lots and lots of rain?
That was a hard time.
Many places flooded, or lost electricity.
Some people had to leave their homes.
Many roads were cut off.
Cars and trucks couldn't get through.
That means some people in small towns, or in the mountains had a problem.
They couldn't go to the doctor or get their medicine.
And that's where the drones came in!
The government says drones are now flying medicine to these people.
This means some people who have long-term illnesses (慢性病) don't have to
worry.
And this is safer for workers delivering the medicine.
The drones can fly even if people cannot see them.
Each drone can carry up to 3 kilograms of medicine!
The drones can bring the medicine to medical workers.
If there is no medical worker close by, the drones can bring the medicine to
safe place.
Then a worker can talk to the patient (病患) on the phone, and tell them how
to take the medicine.
So the next time you see a drone in the sky...
Don't be surprised if it's on a special mission...
Helping someone feel better!

Giant Stick Insect Species Found in Australia
Australia is home to some amazing animals.
And scientists in "The Land Down Under" have found something special...
A new stick insect (竹節蟲).
And this bug is definitely "larger than life"!
The new stick insect is called Acrophylla alta.
It's a big name for a big bug.
This stick insect weighs 44 grams.
That's about as heavy as a golf ball.
It may be the heaviest insect in Australia.
And it's about 40 centimeters long.
That's longer than your arm!
How did it get so big?
Well, scientists say it may have something to do with where they live.
The Acrophylla alta lives in rainforests up in the mountains.
This place is cold and wet.
Scientists think having a bigger body helped the bug survive (存活) in the
cold forest.
So over millions of years, the Acrophylla alta grew bigger and bigger...
Until it became the giant-sized bug it is today!
Scientists say most people never see this bug.
It lives high up in the treetops.
The only way it comes down...
Is if a bird drops it, or a storm blows it off a branch.
And how do scientists know it's a new species (種類)?
Every stick insect species has a different egg.
They are different shapes, colors, and textures.
It's kind of like their fingerprint (指紋).
Scientists are keeping two of these amazing bugs in a museum.
This way other scientists can learn more.
Nature is full of amazing creatures.
So next time you look at a big stick...
Make sure it's not watching you back!
