Danhai Light Rail Making Safety Improvements for Women

The Danhai Light Rail is taking steps to make women passengers feel safer.

Many of the system's stations have no staff, and nearly half of them are
elevated.

System operators have set up designated areas for women to wait for trains,
which are covered by security cameras.

Bathrooms at several stops are also being made family-friendly, with more
facilities to accommodate parents with young kids, and for people with
disabilities.

Security systems are also in place to detect intruders in stations and on
nearby grounds.
