The Central Weather Administration says three surges of seasonal winds are expected to affect Taiwan over the coming days, bringing cooler weather and occasional rain to windward areas
The first surge will end today, bringing brief showers to the north coast, Greater Taipei, eastern Taiwan and the Hengchun Peninsula.
A second wave is expected around Monday, bringing more rain to areas north of Taoyuan and eastern Taiwan.
The winds will weaken on Wednesday and then strengthen again on Thursday and Friday, when localized showers are expected in areas north of Taoyuan and in eastern Taiwan.
Meanwhile, the CWA says Typhoon In-fa is forecast to turn north in waters south of Japan, 2,000 kilometers from Taiwan at its closest point.
Although the typhoon isn't expected to directly affect Taiwan, large swells could affect northern and eastern coastal areas and the Hengchun Peninsula starting tomorrow.
