TAITRA chairman: Unmanned legislation's passage to boost the industry

The Taiwan External Trade Development Council says passage yesterday of
legislation to fund development of the country's unmanned vehicle industry is
going to provide a significant boost to the frontier sector.

TAITRA Chairman Huang Chih-fang (黃志芳) said today that Taiwan's drone industry
already has a strong foundation thanks to the country's advantages in a range
of ICT and related areas, but what's been lacking so far is domestic demand.

He said government development and procurement programs will help to
accelerate drone development, adding that TAITRA will prioritize drones in
its overseas promotional activities.
