KMT holds 22nd National Congress, dragon-boat style

KMT Chair Cheng Li-wun convened the second session of the party's 22nd
National Congress today, leading cheers for the 19 KMT nominees running in
municipal and county elections later this year.

Each of the nominees received an oar and simulated a dragon-boat race by
symbolically "rowing in the same direction," with Cheng beating a drum to
keep them in sync.

The theme for the event was "Care for People, Love the People, Strive for
Peace, Victory for Taiwan." (顧民生、愛人民、拚和平、台灣贏)

The party sees unity in year-end elections as a crucial step in the effort to
win back the presidency in 2028.
