The Central Weather Administration has lifted its sea warning for Typhoon Noul ... as the storm continues to move away from Taiwan.
As of 8am, the center of Noul was about 330 kilometers west-southwest of Cape Eluanbi, Taiwan's southernmost point.
It was moving northwest at about 19kpm, packing maximum sustained winds of 119 kph and with a radius of 180 km.
The CWA said Noul is moving toward China's Guangdong Province.
The weather agency said the storm's outer bands are expected to continue affecting Taiwan.
Extremely heavy rain or heavy rain advisories have been issued for the mountainous areas of Pingtung County, the Hengchun Peninsula and Taitung County, while heavy rain alerts are in effect in Hualien County, Orchid Island and Green Island.
Those advisories are expected to remain in effect through late this afternoon.
