Typhoon Bavi caused power outages for nearly 177,500

More than 177,000 households experienced power outages around Taiwan
overnight and up to 2pm

Taipower says that it was able to restore power to nearly 9 in 10 of those
homes by that time, leaving less than 20,000 households without power.

It says it set more than 16,000 workers to the task of helping customers
recover power.

Taichung City is currently the most-affected area, with more than 3,000
customers currently without power, followed by Kaohsiung City, with more than
2,000 households still affected.
