Typhoon Bavi caused power outages for nearly 154,000

Nearly 154,000 households experienced power outages around Taiwan overnight
and up to 1pm

Taipower says that it was able to restore power to more than three quarters
of those homes by that time, leaving more than 36,000 households without
power.

It says it has set more than 16,000 workers to the task of helping customers
recover power.

Taoyuan City is the most-affected area, with more than 11,000 customers
currently without power, followed by Kaohsiung City, with nearly 6,000
households still affected.

Nearly 5,000 Taichung households were without power as of 1pm
