Typhoon Bavi caused power outages for nearly 140,000

Around 140,000 households experienced power outages around Taiwan overnight
and up to 11 o'clock this morning.

Taipower says that it was able to restore power to two-thirds of those homes
by that time, leaving nearly 45,000 households without power.

Taoyuan City is the most-affected area, with 12,000 customers currently
without power, followed by Kaohsiung City, with more than 6,200 households
affected.

More than 5,400 Taichung households were without power as 11am.
