Taipei prosecutors interrogated and then released a man on 500,000 NT bail after he confessed to organizing a scheme involving buying and selling tickets to concerts by K-pop groups.
A judge said the man was forthcoming during interrogation, meriting release pending further court actions, but bail conditions were set to restrict him from leaving the country.
The man allegedly hired an engineer to write a program that enabled the group to buy tickets online under false identities. The tickets were subsequently scalped via Facebook groups.
Prosecutors didn't release the name of the K-pop group or when the incident happened, but they did say the investigation lasted two years.
Police arrested the main suspect and two assistants on July 1. They also confiscated more than a million Japanese yen and several dozen tickets to Korean and Taiwanese concerts.
