Shih Hsin University President Chen Ching-ho (陳清河) say's he'll take a two-month unpaid leave of absence after making rash comments in an address to students last month.
He had told graduating students to "end themselves" if life in the workforce became too taxing.
In his May 30th address to graduates, he told them, "this world no longer needs your existence {if you can't cope with workplace challenges}."
Chen said in a social media post that he hadn't been sufficiently careful in his remarks due to a tight schedule.
He said he had requested and been granted a two-month unpaid leave of absence effective June 8 and would reflect on the incident and exercise greater caution in future remarks.
