Taipei Zoo takes delivery of two red pandas from Shanghai

Taipei Zoo says two red pandas from the Shanghai Zoo have arrived in Taiwan.

They were given to Taipei Zoo under an MoU signed at the 2024 Shanghai-Taipei
City Forum.

Taipei Zoo said both animals were in good health upon their arrival early
this morning.

The two red pandas, a three-year-old male and a two-year-old female, will be
transferred to the zoo's temperate zone animal area after their month-long
quarantine.

The zoo said they'll have their public debut once they become accustomed to
their new habitat.

In return for the red pandas, Taipei Zoo will send white-handed gibbons to
Shanghai Zoo.
