Canada Day Battle of the Bands

Canada Day isn't going to be celebrated in Taipei until the end of the month,
but there's a kind of preview today.

Organizers are holding a musical competition to help drive excitement and
boost community involvement.

The Battle of the Bands will be held at Taipei's Maji Square from 4-8pm
today. The event is free and open to the public.

Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Taiwan Chair Toi Windham says that audiences
will see and hear some of Taiwan's most exciting emerging talent.

The top three bands will earn a chance to perform at Celebration Canada in
three weeks.

That event will be held at Taipei's Hakka Park on June 27th.
