Taichung's police investigating alleged pepper spray attack at TPP event

Police say they'll launch an investigation after a report that unidentified
individuals pepper sprayed a group of politicians including TPP founder Ko
Wen-je (柯文哲) during a campaign event at Fengjia Night Market in Taichung
last night.

Ko visited Dajia Jenn Lann Temple during the day before campaigning with city
councilor candidate Liu Chin-yu (劉芩妤) at the night market.

Liu said in an official report to Taichung's police that two people on a
scooter aimed pepper spray towards people in the procession while she and Ko
were campaigning on foot.

She said it happened three times within 40 minutes.

Police said the campaign route was a pedestrian-only area and they hadn't yet
found any evidence of two scooter riders or any spraying incident as
described.

But their investigation continues.
