The Cabinet has dismissed a package of China's Taiwan-related policy proposals as a "tool of coercion."
Beijing announced the 10 measures Sunday at the close of KMT Chairwoman Cheng Li-wun's visit to Beijing, which included a meeting with Chinese leader Xi Jinping.
The proposals include resuming individual travel to Taiwan by residents of Shanghai and Fujian Province, easing access for Taiwanese agricultural and fishery products, and offering incentives for residents of the outlying islands Kinmen and Matsu.
Cabinet spokesperson Michelle Lee said most of the measures involved policies Beijing had previously suspended without justification, causing harm to Taiwan's farmers, fishermen and industries.
The Mainland Affairs Council added that Beijing was attempting to sideline Taiwan's democratically-elected government by framing cross-strait relations under a KMT-to-CCP and "one China" framework.
