Motorcyclist killed in collision with car in Kaohsiung

A 49-year-old motorcyclist was killed after colliding with a car in
Kaohsiung's Renwu district early this morning.

Police say neither of the drivers were under the influence of alcohol, and
they're investigating why the car driver didn't yield to the motorcycle as he
merged into traffic.

The motorcyclist was unconscious after being struck, with visible wounds to
his extremities. He died about an hour after being transported to the
hospital.
