President names Hsu Hsi-hsiang as new prosecutor-general

President Lai Ching-te has nominated the current head prosecutor at the
Supreme Prosecutors Office to serve as the next prosecutor-general

Presidential Office spokesperson Karen Kuo said Hsu Hsi-hsiang was nominated
to replace incumbent prosecutor-general Hsing Tai-chao , who will complete
his four-year term on May 7.

The 63-year-old Hsu holds a master's degree in law from National Chung Hsing
University.

He's served as head prosecutor in Kinmen, Hsinchu, Changhua and New Taipei,
and he has served as deputy minister of justice.

His nomination requires legislative approval.
