Chunghwa Post ready to reinstate inactive accounts upon subsidy receipt

Chunghwa Post says customers with inactive accounts who choose to have their
NT$10,000 subsidy checks direct-deposited into postal bank accounts will see
their account become active immediately after the transaction.

Chunghwa Post has 20 million customers, though many accounts have fallen into
disuse. The postal operator told reporters that they can resume normal
transactions, such as ATM withdrawals and deposits as well as counter
services, once the government checks arrive in their accounts.

ATM and in-person withdrawals can begin as soon as Monday and a week from
Monday, respectively.
