Typhoon Champi land warning likely to be lifted this evening

The Central Weather Administration says a land warning for Typhoon Champi is
expected to be lifted this evening, as the storm moves away from Taiwan.

A CWA official says Champi is likely to weaken into a tropical storm this
afternoon, adding that the sea warning for the storm is expected to be lifted
tonight.

Rainfall brought by the storm will likely continue to ease. As of 10am,
Champi was centered about 170 km east-northeast of Yilan County, moving north
at 21 kph.
