The Shi-lin District Court has lifted restrictions banning actor and singer Aaron Yan from leaving the country if he provides a bail of 1.5 million NT before February 23rd.
The restrictions have been in place for 8 months after a TikToker accused Yan of sexual assault and secretly taking explicit photos of him when he was underage.
The Court says today that Yan has come to understand if he escapes abroad it'll have a huge negative impact on his entertainment career.
Prosecutors indicted Yan in November last year on charges of possessing and spreading explicit images of the underage boy based on the Child and Youth Sexual Exploitation Prevention Act.
The Shilin District Court has held two trial sessions for the case.
On the charge of sexual assault of an underage person, the prosecutors deemed the evidence insufficient for prosecution. The Taiwan High Prosecutors Office has since uphold the decision.
