A civic group from Penghu staged a protest outside Taipei City Hall today ...
against relocating Taipei Songshan Airport.

The group .... known as the "Penghu Exploring for the Future Development
Association" .... is concerned the proposal could disrupt transportation
links between Taipei and the outlying island.

Separately, KMT Penghu magistrate candidate Chen Chen-chung (陳振中) has again
voiced his opposition ... rejecting Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an's claim that
he had reached a consensus with candidates from Taiwan's outlying islands.

Chen says Penghu was not included in those discussions and no agreement was
reached.

Meanwhile, Penghu KMT County Party Committee Chairman Chen Shuang-chuan (陳雙全)
has raised concerns with the party's central leadership, warning the proposal
could affect Penghu's interests and hurt the election campaign.

Penghu County Council Speaker Chen Yu-jen (陳毓仁) says any decision to relocate
the airport would ultimately rest with central government agencies, including
the transportation and defense ministries.
