Tai-Ex rebounds from Tuesday decline

The Tai-Ex rebounded from yesterday's decline in early trading as investors
were buoyed by a rise for Nvidia and other U-S big tech stocks on Wall Street
overnight.

The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index, which shares a strong correlation with
the Taiwan Stock Exchange - rose 2.6-per cent overnight, which also lent
strong support to the local main board this morning.

The weighted index added 434 point to reach a high of 43,741.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing, MediaTek, Delta Electronics, and A-S-E
Technology all made solid gains in early trading - which saw the
overall electronics index rising by more than 1-per cent.
