HK Internet Celebrity Toyz Deported After Early Release From Prison

Hong Kong internet celebrity Toyz has been deported from Taiwan after being
granted parole while serving a four-year, two-month prison sentence for
selling cannabis vape cartridges.

Toyz, whose real name is Liu Wei-chien (劉偉健), was convicted of drug
trafficking after he and his associates bought 500 cannabis vape cartridges
for 600-thousand NT and sold them through a distribution network in 2020.

The National Immigration Agency says prosecutors ordered his deportation
instead of placing him under parole supervision.

He will also be barred from returning to Taiwan for a specified period.

The agency says any future application to live in Taiwan based on family ties
will be subject to strict review.
