Greenland has opened a new international airport in the town of Ilulissat, hoping to attract more visitors and diversify its economy.
The first international flight arrived from Copenhagen on Thursday, carrying 169 passengers, including Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen.
Nielsen called the airport one of the biggest investments in Greenland's history.
The new facility is part of a wider effort to expand tourism and reduce the island's reliance on fishing as it pursues greater economic independence from Denmark.
The strategically located Arctic territory has also attracted attention from U-S President Donald Trump, who has repeatedly expressed interest in acquiring Greenland.
