Alishan steam train maple foliage tours to begin in December

The Alishan Forest Railway will offer five special steam train tours in
December ....

.... giving passengers a chance to enjoy the mountain area's autumn scenery
aboard historic carriages made from Taiwan cypress.

The tours will run every Tuesday from December 1st to 29th, with each trip
limited to 100 passengers.

The railway says tickets cost 3,250 NT and include meals, a guided tour and
admission to the Alishan National Forest Recreation Area.

Passengers will also be able to get off at scenic stops to photograph the
historic steam locomotive against the colorful mountain foliage.

Online bookings for the first tour open at 10 a.m. on November 17th, with
reservations for later trips opening 15 days before departure.
