Taoyuan Metro Corporation says its Airport MRT trains are cleaned and disinfected daily, following recent complaints on social media about unpleasant smells inside carriages.
The company says cleaning is carried out at terminal stations during operating hours and after service ends each day.
It has also taken steps to address the problem, including replacing seat cushions and covers, deodorizing carriages, and cleaning air-conditioning systems.
The company added that nearby farms and livestock facilities around A10 Shanbi Station might also contribute to smells.
It says it has worked with the Taoyuan City Government to improve wastewater treatment at nearby facilities.
The metro operator reminds passengers that they can report cleanliness problems through QR codes inside trains or contact station staff and customer service.
