Champi weakens to tropical storm strength; land warning lifted

The Central Weather Bureau has downgraded Typhoon Champi.

It's now Tropical Storm Champi ... after the weather system weakened over the
course of the day.

The CWA lifted its land warning as it downgraded the storm -- at 2:30pm.

A sea warning is still in effect, but it's likely to be lifted this evening
or tonight.

Champi now has maximum sustained winds of 108 km/h and a radius of 200km. The
eye is about 250km northeast of Taipei.
