Oil rises after U.S. orders diplomats out of Saudi Arabia
Posted on 2026-10-22 13:35:13
Oil prices rose this morning after the United States ordered nonessential
diplomats and family members to leave Saudi Arabia amid escalating attacks.

Brent crude climbed about one percent to just over 110 U.S. dollars a barrel
in early trading.

U.S. crude also gained about one percent, reaching just over 98 dollars.

The departure order follows a series of attacks involving Yemen's Iran-backed
Houthi rebels.

Reports say that an airport attack in Dammam killed one person and wounded
eight, while a drone attack on a Saudi oilfield killed two.

The violence has raised concerns about regional oil supplies and shipping.

A larger-than-expected drop in U.S. crude inventories also supported prices.
