Transit disruptions from Typhoon Champi (round 1)
Posted on 2026-10-22 13:35:13
Typhoon Champi has already begun interrupting transportation services in
Penghu, with flights between the Penghu Islands and the Taiwan main island
called off since 11 today.

That's as passengers crowded the airport, attempting to make it back to
Taiwan ahead of Champi's arrival...

Parts of Penghu are seeing wind gusts reaching force 11 on the Beaufort
Scale.

Local officials say, those waiting for a flight will be assigned a seat as
soon as possible once flights resume.

A total of 33 flights from Penghu were cancelled today.

Meanwhile maritime services are also suspended.
