The Directorate-General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics says his agency has not yet to discussed funding for C-P-C's planned investment in an Alaska liquefied natural gas project.
According to Chen Shu-tzu, her agency has not been consulted, as negotiations on the project are ongoing.
Speaking at a legislative hearing, Chen told lawmakers that whether funding will come through the annual budget or a special budget will depend on C-P-C's financial structure.
She also denied that a proposed 233.8-billion N-T capital injection into the state refiner was aimed at financing the Alaska deal.
The Ministry of Economic Affairs announced last week that C-P-C planned to invest up to 4.4-billion U-S dollars in the project and purchase 6 million metric tons of L-N-G annually once production begins.
The ministry said deliveries could start as early as 2032 if the project's development proceeds on schedule.
Economics minister Kung Ming-hsin has said the Alaska partnership will diversify Taiwan's L-N-G supplies and strengthen energy security, as direct shipments across the Pacific will provide an alternative supply route that could help reduce geopolitical risks.
