Taipei Preps for Retrocession Day Congestion
Posted on 2026-10-21 20:07:13
The Taipei City Police Department announced plans to ensure smooth traffic
ahead of the Retrocession Day holiday weekend.

The department says officers will be stationed early at 4 p.m. on Friday,
Oct. 23rd, across 100 major intersections, including Zhongshan North and
Zhongxiao West roads.

Remaining designated intersections across the city will see traffic control
personnel deployed starting at 4:30 p.m.

Police will also step up patrols around major sightseeing spots, including
Yangmingshan, Taipei Zoo, and Shilin Official Residence.

The department advises citizens traveling to tourist spots or shopping areas
to use public transit or shuttles.
