Micron Technology has reached a labor agreement with its Taichung union, but a separate dispute with workers in Taoyuan remains unresolved.
The U-S memory chipmaker and the Taichung union announced Wednesday that they had signed an agreement following negotiations, but did not disclose details.
Meanwhile, Micron's Taoyuan union is still planning a one-day strike on Thursday in support of its Taichung counterparts.
The unions are demanding a long-term profit-sharing system that would distribute 15 percent of the company's operating profits to employees.
They have also criticized Micron's existing incentive pay plan for lacking transparency.
The Taoyuan union says the planned strike does not mean negotiations are over and is urging management to propose a profit-sharing plan acceptable to its members.
