Typhoon delays Army base tour in Taichung

The Army has postponed a public tour of its Chengkungling military base in
Taichung by one week because of approaching Super Typhoon Champi.

The event, originally scheduled for this Saturday, will now take place on
October 31st, from 8 AM to 3 PM.

The tour is open to Taiwanese nationals and their foreign spouses, as well as
foreign caregivers accompanying the people they look after. Foreign
participants must present valid identification.

The Army has apologized for the change and encouraged the public to attend to
learn more about the military and national defense.

The Central Weather Administration said that Champi is likely to skirt Taiwan
between Friday and Saturday if it stays on its current track.
