Taiwan's First Homegrown Submarine Begins 25th Sea Trial
Posted on 2026-10-15 18:21:14
Taiwan's first domestically built submarine, the Hai Kun, has begun its 25th
sea trial ... with a military expert saying the vessel is entering the final
stage of testing.

The submarine headed out to sea this morning for its 19th diving test.

The expert says upcoming trials are expected to become more demanding ...
with the submarine diving deeper and spending longer periods underwater.

He also points to earlier statements by shipbuilder CSBC, which says most of
the submarine's system integration problems have been resolved following
repeated adjustments and technical assistance from equipment manufacturers.
