5 platforms invite Shen, Chiang to debate

5 media platforms are inviting Taipei mayoral candidates Puma Shen and Chiang
Wan An to participate in a televised debate.

Those platforms include the Liberty Times newspaper and China Television
Company, among others.

A statement from the 5 platforms emphasized that Taipei residents have a
right to see both candidates' policy proposals and their ideas for how to
make these proposals happen.

The announcement added that the debate, should candidates accept the
invitation, would maintain neutrality and transparency...

emphasizing a return to "rational policy exchange" rather than virtue
signaling and political sloganeering.

The invitation comes as Shen and Chiang have already in principle agreed to a
debate hosted by TVBS and S-E-T News but have not nailed down dates or
format.
